Qirtas العربية

Terms of Use

First version — release date: 20 October 2026. The Arabic text prevails.

1. Acceptance

a. By using Qirtas (the “App”) you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Nature of the App and ownership

a. The App is an independent product fully and exclusively owned by Yousuf Ghulam Nabi (the “Developer”). It may be embedded in other apps developed by the Developer under a right of use only, and no ownership right in it passes to those apps or to any other party.

3. Your content

a. Everything you write, draw and add to your boards is yours, and the Developer acquires no right in it.

b. You are responsible for your content and for what you share.

c. You are responsible for the correctness of the equations you insert and for reviewing them; the App does not correct them automatically.

d. Handwriting recognition is an optional automated feature that may make mistakes, and you are responsible for reviewing its result.

e. The AI assistant relies on automated models that may make mistakes or produce inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable information for your case. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying everything it provides before relying on it, and it is no substitute for a specialist’s opinion on medical, legal, financial or other matters.

f. What you write to the AI assistant and the images of your board that you attach to it are yours, and the Developer acquires no right in them beyond the processing needed to provide the answer.

g. Text, shapes or other content the AI assistant generates for you is yours to use as you wish under these terms and applicable law, and the Developer does not claim ownership of it. Outputs may resemble one another across users because they are generated automatically, and the Developer does not guarantee their uniqueness.

h. Do not add to your boards or share what you have no right to use or share, such as material owned by others, except to the extent permitted by their owners’ rights and applicable law.

i. Your content includes the sticky notes, tables, connectors, shapes, page templates and paper color you add or choose.

j. Neither the App nor its installer deletes your boards on its own; deleting them is your decision. When you select several boards and delete them together, the cloud-deletion choice you make applies to all of them. On Windows uninstalling does not delete them, and on Android the system removes the App’s data when it is removed.

4. Saving and backup

a. Automatic saving and cloud saving are aids only, and the Developer does not guarantee that your boards will remain or will not be lost because of device failure, deleting the App, a sync error or a conflict between two edits on two devices. Keep a backup of what matters to you, such as exporting to a file.

b. When cloud saving is enabled the newer copy may replace the older one, so do not edit the same board on two devices at the same time. The board file is compressed before upload, so older versions of the App cannot read files uploaded in this format, and you must update the App on all your devices.

c. Your boards, images, PDF files and voice recordings are encrypted on your device with a key kept in the operating system’s secure storage. If this key is lost (for example by clearing the App’s data or resetting the device) and you have no copy of it, boards that exist only on the device may become unreadable, and the Developer cannot recover them. The user is responsible for their files and for keeping backups of them. Keep an exported or cloud copy of what matters to you.

d. In the web version your boards are kept in your browser only and there is no cloud saving; clearing browser or site data, private browsing or the browser’s own decision to empty storage may delete them. You are responsible for exporting backups of them, and the Developer is not liable for their loss.

5. Third-party services

a. Cloud saving takes place in your Google or Microsoft account, fonts are downloaded from Google Fonts, and optional handwriting recognition (on Android and iOS) goes through Google ML Kit, which downloads the language model from Google once. These services are subject to their providers’ terms and policies, and the Developer is not liable for their outage or for changes to their terms.

b. On Windows, Google sign-in passes through a relay on Cloudflare operated by the Developer. Converting Word, PowerPoint and Excel files to PDF uses the Microsoft Office installed on your device under your own license; the Developer does not provide it and is not liable for how it works.

c. The AI assistant works through a relay server operated by the Developer on an external hosting platform, and passes your requests to external AI service providers whose processing is subject to their own terms and policies. The Developer is not liable for these providers’ outage or for changes to their models, terms or prices.

6. Sharing by QR code

a. When you share a board the App shows a QR code on your screen. You are responsible for whom you show this code to and for what you share. The content is transferred encrypted and the encryption key is inside the code itself, so show the code only to whoever you want to receive your board. The Qirtas App must be installed on the other device to scan the code.

b. This feature is not available in the web version.

7. Problem reports and suggestions

a. The App sends a problem report only after showing you its type and obtaining your consent the first time; later problems are then sent automatically if you choose, and you can stop sending at any time from Settings, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

b. No copy of your boards is sent with reports, and accepting or refusing to send a report is your decision alone. Sending a suggestion is optional and it is used only to reply to you and improve the App. Sending reports and suggestions is not available in the web version.

8. The AI assistant and its account

a. The AI assistant is an optional feature that requires an account with your email and a password, separate from your Google and Microsoft accounts, requires an internet connection, and is not available in the web version. The rest of the App does not depend on it.

b. Balance: your account balance is consumed with each answer according to the model used. Balance is bought by contacting the Developer, in Bahraini dinars according to the packages shown inside the App, and purchase does not take place inside the App.

c. Balance is not refundable once bought, and it is valid for one month from the date it is added to your account, after which any unused part expires.

d. The service is subject to the providers’ limits, and an answer may be delayed or fail. When an answer fails, nothing is deducted from your balance.

e. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account.

f. The Developer may change the packages, the available models and the way consumption is calculated, and may stop the service or some of its models after notifying you.

g. The assistant may not be used for any use that violates the law, the rights of others or these terms, nor to circumvent the balance or usage limits, share your account with others, abuse the service or overload it.

h. Do not enter confidential information or other people’s personal data into the assistant.

i. The Developer may suspend or stop your account if you violate these terms. To request deletion of your account and its data write to yousuf@namari8.com.

j. Your data in the assistant is processed as set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. Voice recording

a. The voice recording feature is optional, and a notice appears before every recording. You are responsible for respecting the rights of others and the rules of your educational institution, so do not record the voice of the lecturer or anyone else without their permission.

b. Recordings are stored encrypted on your device and are uploaded with the board to your active cloud account (Google Drive or OneDrive) if you enable cloud saving. The Developer may disable this feature or stop it for all users at any time, without deleting your recordings from your device.

10. Acceptable use

You may not:

a. Use the App in a way that violates the law or the rights of others.

b. Reverse engineer the App, modify it or extract its code.

c. Copy, distribute, sell or rename the App.

d. Attempt to disable the App or harm the services connected to it.

11. Operating requirements and security restrictions

a. The Android app may refuse to run on a rooted device, on an emulator, while developer options or USB debugging are enabled, or when tampering with the App or its signature is detected. On Windows it may refuse to run when a debugger is detected in the final version. This is to protect your data and is not a defect in the App.

b. The AI assistant needs an internet connection and is not available in the web version.

c. The web version requires a modern browser that supports IndexedDB, WebCrypto and WebAssembly, and some features may differ between browsers. The following are not available in it: the AI assistant, sharing by QR code, handwriting recognition, converting Office files, and problem reports and suggestions.

12. Intellectual property and license

a. The App, its name, logo, design and code belong solely to the Developer. You have a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable personal license to use it, and its name or logo may not be used without the Developer’s written permission.

13. Availability and change

a. The Developer does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and may update, modify or stop features.

b. A Beta label appears next to the App’s name while it is in the trial stage. The App runs on devices with 4 GB of memory or more and may be slower or less stable on weaker devices; the App warns you once if your device is at or below the minimum and selects a light performance level for it, which you can change from Settings.

c. This is the first version of the App. It is in the trial stage and is distributed directly from its official site, not through stores; it may contain errors and its features may change, including the AI assistant and its prices, which may change or stop. The structure of files uploaded to the cloud may also change (such as compression), in which case you must update the App on all your devices to keep them compatible. Android and Windows may show a warning at installation for this reason. Install the App only from the official site (qirtas.namari8.com) and check the published file fingerprint. Use the web version only from its official address (qirtas.namari8.com/board).

14. Disclaimer

a. The App is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not liable for indirect damages, nor for what results from loss of boards, outage of third-party services, the user’s misuse, or reliance on the AI assistant’s outputs. This does not include what cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence.

15. Termination

a. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it (or by clearing the site data in the web version). The Developer may restrict or stop access for anyone who violates these terms.

16. Changes

a. For any material change we will notify you inside the App before you continue using it, and update the date of this page.

17. Governing law and dispute resolution

a. These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. We first seek to settle any dispute amicably, and if that is not possible the competent courts of the Kingdom of Bahrain have jurisdiction.
